CSEE is retired. What does this mean for you?

In case you missed it, CSEE has retired. So what does that mean? For the many Sports ETA members that achieved their CSEE designation, those individuals' designations are now referred to as Sports Tourism Strategist (STS) to more accurately reflect their role in the sports events and tourism industry. Continuing education requirements for those with their STS designation require 4 STS credits each calendar year. Check your Sports ETA profile to see if you fall within this group and if so you'll be able to download your new STS certificate and a toolkit to help guide you through the transition from CSEE to STS. For those members that were in the process of achieving their CSEE, you are now in the process of achieving your STS. Any previous credits earned, transfer over and count towards your STS designation. 2019 State of the Industry Report Summary

In a recent study conducted by the Sports Events and Tourism Association, research showed U.S. sports travelers, event organizers and venues spent a total of $45.1 billion in 2019, an increase of over 5 percent from the previous year, generating $103.3 billion in direct, indirect and induced business sales, according to the 2019 State of the Sports Tourism Industry Report in America. From 2015 to 2019, sports tourism spending increased 16.7%. The study conducted calculated three distinct types of impact: direct, indirect, and induced, calculating the levels of impact for sales, jobs, wages, and taxes. By monitoring the sports tourism economy, policymakers can produce future funding plans and prioritize sector development. Sports Travelers: Nearly 180 million people traveled to a sports event in the U.S. in 2019 either as a participant or spectator, which generated 69 million room nights. Sports ETA to launch Sports Tourism Innovation Certificate in partnership with 4FRONT

Contact: Jackie Reau Game Day (513) 708-5822 jreau@gamedaypr.com Sports ETA to launch Sports Tourism Innovation Certificate in partnership with 4FRONT CINCINNATI (April 27, 2020) – Sports ETA, the only trade association for the sport tourism industry, is partnering with 4FRONT, a leading sports innovation consultancy, to offer the Sports Tourism Innovation Certificate, beginning this spring. The four-part Innovation Certificate will provide a virtual learning opportunity for participants to think strategically, boldly, creatively and differently about their organization’s business. Each session will consist of a customized presentation, which will last approximately 45-50 minutes, with the remaining time for Q&A.
